Hi, I am Jim Pasztor. I am 59 years old and live in Aurora, Colorado with my wife and two shelter dogs: Jake and Ace. We relocated here eight years ago from Greensboro, North Carolina when I accepted a position with the College for Financial Planning. I am currently a Professor and the Vice President of Academic Affairs at the College. I still work with some great clients in North Carolina who have been with me for years, and I now serve clients primarily in Aurora and Parker, Colorado, who receive a discounted fee for my financial planning services.
I am proud of a guide I published in 2010 titled, "Finding a Real Cowboy - How to Protect Your Money from Wall Street and Financial Planner Wannabes." This unique book gives practical , easy to understand advice on how to find a real financial planner.
It is available at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. - just search for "Finding a Real Cowboy".
In 1999 I founded Pasztor & Associates, and became a fee-only financial planner. I work with clients on both an hourly and a retainer basis. Prior to starting my own firm I worked in the investment field for over 16 years, primarily as a branch manager at brokerage firms. I bring over 30 years of experience to the table, and my passion for sound financial planning has led me to obtain my CFP certification (1998), a Master of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning (2005) and a Master of Science in Financial Analysis (2010).
I also have a passion for teaching, and was instrumental in leading the CFP education classes at Guilford College from 2000 to 2005. I have also led numerous classes with various financial firms, and have also taught for the executive programs at Duke, Duquesne, and Fordham Universities.
I am a proud member of the Garrett Planning Network, which serves middle America, and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. Thank you for visiting the Pasztor & Associates website, and I hope to hear from you soon!
